TRIUMPH OF POLITICS
BOOK : THE TEMPTING OF AMERICA
The Political Seduction of the Law
By Robert H. Bork
A Touchstone Book

Written in 1990, Judge Bork sets out the thesis that, "...the
American institutions of law, literature, economics, science,
and journalism have steadily succumb to the belief that nothing
matters beyond politically desirable results, however
achieved." That even, "...the life of the intellect, perhaps
especially the life of the intellect, (has) become
politicized...(nothing) counts, not logic, not objectivity, not
even intellectual honesty, (if) it stands in the way of the
'correct' political outcome."
He then proceeds to demonstrate how our legal system,
particularly judges and the courts, most especially the Supreme
Court, have become not "politically neutral" but politically
active, effectively usurping the legislative authority given
only to Congress.
Here in one book, for us laymen, is Constitutional Law 101.
