I had the opportunity, a
couple of years ago, to attend a meeting where Lech Walesa was
the key note speaker. In this book his story, the history
of the Solidarity Movement in Poland and its relation to the
fall of Soviet Communism, is a life lesson for all of us and
especially important for those under the age of 21. Here is the
singular eye witness account, to a system of forced domination
and violence, that refutes all that is civil, moral and Godly.
And, it happened "on our watch", tolerated by a western
philosophy devoid of everything decent...

Called by Communist leaders, "...one of the truly
dangerous ones, the gentle and courteous sort." Vaclav Havel, in
his own way, mirrored the role played by Lech Walesa ( in Poland
) in bring about the collapse of Soviet Communism. An important
piece of the freedom puzzle...a chink in the armor of the
totalitarian system. Havel was a participant in the Prague
Spring of 1968, founding spokesman of Charter 77, human rights
prisoner, 1989 co-founder of the Civic Forum and then a freely
elected President of Czechoslovakia. Always talking and
writing about the importance of speaking the TRUTH, he gave
literal meaning to the Biblical proverb "...seek the truth and
the truth will set you free."
